Home Alone

LOL! I always do the laundry barefooted. Every time I try and do it wearing high heels, I trip and turn my ankle. And at my age, that is not a good thing!
And, please note that in this household, I do all the laundry.

I'm bored too. I started at the new firm two weeks ago but they haven't given me an assignment yet. When I ask for work I'm told that this is the time to learn the software and routine. I did that the first day. So now I sit, 8:30 A.M. to 5:30 P.M. reading IRS publications. I can't get online to S2KI and there is nothing else to do. These are some of the longest days I've ever had.
Next week should be better, I think I'm getting some clients. (I hope.)

Quick note: Have an appt with ever-vigilant physician this morning at 9:30 am. I got a notice on my door yesterday afternoon that my water supply will be shut off from 9 to 4 today to repair a water main. The S needed to be washed, but we needed the laundry done more, so I didn't have time to wash it yesterday. I had a choice this morning: shower & do my hair, etc. really early just in case the water gets shut off before my dr appt, or wash the S. I did what any redblooded S car driver would do: I washed the S. I'm now headed to the shower and hope I get finished before they shut off the water or I'll just have to go to the Dr all soapy.

I've been home alone for 2 months plus a week. Got to make my own coffee. Feed myself and clean-up. Do laundry, dust and clean, vacuum, water the plants, etc, etc. But, I'm not making the bed every day, and I'm not feeling sorry for myself. +1 is still in CA and caring for 3 grandkids and doing what housewives and Moms do every day. Their mother - who has been on 100% bedrest with twins for over 2 months is now in a hospital in San Fran for-the-duration. Fortunately, she's made it to 33 weeks with twins. I don't think it will be much longer now. +1 is being a real champ and is not complaining about losing her spring and summer or anything else. She says that two normal and healthy grandchildren is all the reward she needs. Like I said, I'm not feeling sorry for myself.

My checkup today wasn't as good as I'd hoped, so now I'm on another round of antibiotics. This time its cipro. Apparently the bad old bug migrated to my kidneys, so I guess if we kill the bug, then the back pain and swollen glands will go away. I'm not feeling horrible, just get tired fast and my back aches. I'll just take it kind of slow and easy for a few days and I'm sure I'll be feeling fit as fiddle in no time flat.
