Home Alone
Wahhhh, I'm bored and nobody's posting anything. I have to do laundry ALL DAY today because I've been working outside where I'd rather be and not keeping up the indoor chores. I guess I'll go finish a book between loads although I'd rather chat with you guys.

I'm having one of those days at work.
I installed the new release of a critical software package, and of course it doesn't work. It spits out a nice meaningless error message and dies quietly.
It's nothing I can fix, but of course the company who wrote it has no clue either. Oh well!

Sounds like everyone's having a poopy day. I hate doing laundry. It feels so confining and I've really been putting it off. Yesterday +1 told me if I didn't think I was going to get around to the laundry within the next couple/days, we may have to make a run out to the fruit of the loom store. What a guy!!!!
Of course, this "I installed the new release of a critical software package" makes my laundry chore seem quite insignificant (unless of course you completely run out of clean clothes, I suppose).

I do most of our laundry. Rick helps with it from time to time. Over the years, certain household chores have evolved into his/hers. Does that happen at your houses?
For example, I joke that the medication fairy must stop by our house regularly, as Rick's prescriptions seem to get re-fillled magically. The banking/bill paying fairy lives in our house too, but if his shirt needs a button sewn on, the fairy has to call for reinforcements. A shirt in the sewing basket just about enters the "Twilight Zone."
By the same token, there are things I don't even concern myself with. I have a check my tire/check my oil pressure fairy that I count on. The same fairy seems to unload the dis-washer, cook and also does most of the yard work.
Everyone should have some help around the house.

In this house I am the cleaning, laundry, cooking, bill-paying, flower gardening, grocery shopping, medication refilling, S car washing fairy. +1 is the "put the $$ in the bank fairy" and he fixes whatever breaks, mows a great deal of the lawn, checks tire pressure (I check the oil in the S, but he does the other cars). I usually make the appointments for car repairs, oil changes, etc. for my cars, but +1 takes care of the vette and the jeep. I am the entertainment director and make the plans for most of our fun time. However, I do not do a good job of sewing buttons on shirts. I usually stick them in the sewing basket and they never return (I think there's a sinkhole in there or something). I never will be caught doing windows or doing any housepainting. Once a year or so I hire someone to wash the windows, but it won't happen this year since we're waiting for a contractor to come do some work on the house and he'll just ruin them again, so it'll be after his work is done I guess. +1 is the designated person who takes out the trash. I feed, water and take the dogs out in the morning and during the day, but +1 takes them out at night and puts them to bed. Most importantly, +1 is the car buying fairy. I deplore dealing with car salesmen/dealers and he doesn't mind doing that and he usually does all the research on whatever we're looking at, so I leave all that to him. He did a good job with the S, so he gets an A in car-buying.
