I haven't gotten the new medicine yet but maybe cutting back on coffee really is helping. This morning before coffee I got 127/87, with a pulse of 78. Cool!

I had my 14th infusion this morning. They always check your vitals before they let you go home. Right before that was done, I couldn't find my reading glasses. I hadn't left the room for 4 hours so they had to be there, but where did they go? A minor panic set in and my BP was 171/92. Nurse told me to stand up and when I did they fell from my lap onto the floor. (I blame chemobrain) BP started dropping after that fiasco. Back in the 130's now.....

I have been fighting high blood pressure for 45 years or so with varying results. I retired 14 years ago, and amazingly, after all that work stress disappeared, my BP has stabilized, though I still take medication. I check it fairly often and it’s usually at 125/70. My cardiologist is happy with that. So am I!

My BP is usually higher when I go to the doc - white coat hypertension. But for whatever reason yesterday was an exception…110/68! It has been around that at home some days. I take it every week or so. Did not expect it to carry over. BP in the 90/60 to 120/80 range is considered normal but we older folks get a bit of a reprieve - 140/90 is the threshold.
