Hey Emil! This one is in Montreal (and I'm sure you're glad)

Some politician in Montreal was likely well paid to arrange for that beautiful tree. There has to be a story behind this one, there always is in Montreal. Nothing happens without a payment going missing or an over-payment there, someone's "brother" brought that one into the City. .

Check out the food on Rue de la Montagne and when you finish looking at the tree, turn Bea loose with your credit card on Ste. Catherine. You can go almost anyplace in Montreal via the underground walkways. Start at the QE Hotel for afternoon tea and then take the underground through all of the shops to Ste. Catherine and then a walk to Rue de la Montagne. If you get a chance, go up Mount Royal. Some fine bakeries (great bagels) and almost more kosher food than NYC.
Note to Emil: Quebec will have to be a trip all on its own. Just won't be able to do it justice on a day trip, I'm afraid. 5+ hours of driving won't leave much daylight to tour this time of year, I'm afraid. We would love to have a with you and René, though. Thanks for the kind offer, in any event.

Well I'm not a fan of Toronto really, living about 2 hours west of there I avoid visiting as much as possible these days. While not being in a position to support or not support Rob Ford, there were elements of Rob Ford (RIP) that were very unique, and he always tried to help the working men and women of his region, despite his shortcomings and obvious addiction issues. He was a colourful character if nothing else.
