Default Helpful cleaning tips, house or car

Since I've got some time on my hands, I'm working on getting my house to sparkle...

Anyone have any shortcut cleaning tips? Car cleaning tips welcome!

Here's one I use. I have white appliances in the kitchen. They have white plastic handles, and other plastic trim (on the microwave), I'm not thrilled with it as it's hard to get/keep clean. The surface appears smooth, but it's not and grime can settle in.

Mr. Clean Magic eraser (or store band for the frugal) has done a nice job of cleaning those surfaces. Also good for a little ground in dirt on the tile floor. Dirt does seem to accumulate a bit, in those little bumps/dimples in the tile surface in spite of regular washing .

Hint: Don't use the same one on the refrigerator that you use on the floor.

As for cleaning windows, that's easy. The windows drop in for easy cleaning, and for easier cleaning, ask the +1 do to it for you. Rick did them all not too long ago.

You know, I tried to find a cleaning lady to help out a bit with the heavier stuff while I was "tied up" last spring/summer, but no luck. I didn't want just anyone in the house, and the few people that I did know that did that kind of work were booked.

I learned to ignore dust bunnies and soap scum until Rick had the time, or I attempted the tasks with one arm.

Mean Green works great for cleaning tires.

Joy is a pretty good hand soap.

Dawn strips wax.

Barkeepers friend for stainless appliances. My wife tried everything and a friend recommended this. It lasts and fingerprints and spills wipe off instead of smudging.

I use that on my sink, and the fiberglass tub. Didn't we hear that some Wd40 or some other weird thing was also good for SS appliances?

Emil mentioned the WD40 for stainless appliances. Haven't tried that. On HGTV the other day, they were using vinegar and water.

We have an acrylic tub and shower so I polish and wax them ......Ford Clearcoat Polish and Collonite Fiberglass Boat Wax.
