Help! Flat Screen TV technical criteria
#21
Thanks to all for the TV comments on this thread, as well as the unpublished suggestions from my secret correspondent in NJ
As Gene knows, we are slow to follow up...as we are reluctant spenders of our pitiful non-renewable savings Maybe NEXT week we'll go to Best Buy for some visual evaluation.
Except for Gene using his , I won't bump this thread unless there is progress. I know all of you are just sittin' on the edge of your rocking chair seats.

DONE!
Yesterday we went to Best Buy to "just look" at the flat screens. We now have a 50" Samsung Smart TV with all of the bells/ whistles...WiFi, micro-dimming LED, etc. After getting used to it, we will probably also get a Polk Soundbar w/wireless subwoofer. It appeared to be a huge bargain, so we bought it "on the spot".
Well, the "spot" that still had one in stock, however, was south of Wilmington DE ("home of JuknGene and "tax free shopping")....so I drove there after dinner last evening....down and back in 2 hours. The huge box fit nicely in the Prius with the rear seats folded. The P-car really is a flexible vehicle....I should start a hybrid thread sometime.
Looking fwd to getting a NetFlix account for the first time; are they still in business?
BIG thank you to Zippy, Gary and everyone else for your help and suggestions!

....As an aside, since it took you the better part of 6 months to decide on a $65 printer, is this decision going to last until 2015?
We should have met up for coffee last night....as I half way to your house!

i sent the 20 page illustration to my trusted long-time Northwest Mutual agent to give it a once-over; NWM does not sell this combo product, so he has no "axe to grind"
