^^ Already checked on Kyras' location -- she is 12 hours from where we will be and we really are not out there for fun .
I can verify this time. On my first day back to Ohio, I left Acton at 5:23AM, and got to Albuquerqe at 5:41PM, 776 miles there.

In the neighborhood of 260 miles though each way, you could go to the Grand Canyon, back in Arizona. I was impressed.

And then there is 90 more miles to go to where we'll be. Yeah, I was thinking maybe good ole hAndydown would let me borrow his wheels for a few weeks. Sadly, I'm too far away (and I really wouldn't ask for such a big favor anyway).

Oh yeah, I forgot you'll be in Santa Fe. I think it's much prettier up there. Maybe I need another road trip. I better go see when you'll be there.

Arriving 8/15 (in the evening), leaving for a few days on 9/12, returning 9/16 (I think), will stay there until 10/14. Found out today that some of my +1's colleagues are already there and at least one of them brought his wife. I guess I won't be the only "wifey" out there. Some of them have been there for months, so I'm sure they'll know their way around. I'm such an introvert that I've never been "close" to any of the wives in his organization. I still think I'll be pretty much on my own. Kyras, we'll be staying outside Sante Fe someplace and after I find out where we are and get my bearings, I'll pm. I plan to pm Dr. Cloud when he gets back in town too.

I should have qualified that: except with S2k folks.

Edit: Bear in mind that these are either women who cruise in monster-sized SUVs or worse yet, Buick sedans or block-long Chryslers. They think I'm some kind of freakazoid because I know where/how to check the oil in my car.

How did I miss this thread? Val, I wish I were going. I spent two days in Sante Fe in the early 70s and absolutely fell in love with the place. I've been promising mystelf a return trip, but every year I put it off til next year.

Santa Fe and that whole area is absolutely magnificent. Enjoy the adventure.
