Default Has this country totally lost any sense of humor?

By now everyone has heard of President Obama's off the cuff remark to Jay Leno about a low bowling score. He knew right away it was a slip and called from his plane to make an apology. Anyone hearing it knew he did not mean anything mean by it, yet the media and others just won't let it pass. He was essentially making fun of himself. Why can't people just laugh it off and move on? I think this country needs to get off it's high horse on people who live in the bubble. It could use a sense of humor. Am I the only one that feels that way?

Nice point, Dave! We all shook our heads as this same kind of thing happened to both sides during the last election. The media pundits have nothing better to focus on than phatic comments, slips of the tongue, or slips of the mind. Too bad we can't oust them by popular vote like we do politicians. Getting news or intelligent commentary from these people is sometimes like the proverbial "going to the garbage barrel to find a biscuit".

I heard the remark and cringed.... I knew it would bite him in the A$$. W made many stupid remarks along the way, so I'm sure opposing parties were waiting for something like this.

All that said, we the people need to be so PC at times, it seems as if we are supposed to have a stick up our collective _____and not say a word about it.

It was funny. It doesn't deserve the time spent other than an acknowledgment of humor.

And I don't think it's the people driving the indignation. It's the spin doctors and a willing and exploitative press.

Sometimes, it is funny to make a joke about someone/something else.

Hey, zdave87, do you have two S2000s now, or what's with the signature?

3/4ths of the "news" these days seems to be coverage of things I couldn't care less about. Whether its a joke of questionable taste told by the President on some late night show or the latest antics of the octet mom, or yet another missing and presumed murdered spouse. What REALLY makes my skin crawl is when GMA decides to interview some tragic soul who has just lost a loved one through unusual accident or bizarre crime.

Nope

The Sebring was my first, the GPW is my second (and the the best).

When no one's around, those of us in the business can be VERY un-PC.
