Happy Hanukkah to those who celebrate it!
Tonight starts the first night of Hanukkah. Best wishes to all who celebrate it.
By the way, I heard an interesting bit on NPR this morning. Apparently, many of the US traditions of Hannukah can be traced to a couple of Rabbis from Cincinnati from the 19th century who noticed that "those darned kids now days don't seem to have much of a connection to the Synagogue."

Note: the actual radio broadcast went into a bit more detail.
