I voted yes even though I just got the shot on my return from Massachusetts on Monday.
The doctor at the clinic was not very happy with me when she brought up my medical records on the computer. She said that even though I was not in the CDC high risk category because I am over 64, with the number of heart and kidney procedures that I have had, they will always make an exception.
I have mixed emotions about that since I had been staunch about folks over 64 not getting the H1N1 until the supply was sufficient and allowing anyone to get the vaccine.

You put yourself at risk by being a "good citizen".
Looking back now, who was right your doctor or your gov't?

Got the shot tonight. Took my Mom along, there is now plenty of vaccine to go around, so no crowds or standing in line.
Have not heard a peep about H1N1 lately, but if it surfaces again, I'll be ready!

I didn't get it even though everyone says I should. I haven't ever had a flu shot and haven't had the flu in 41 years. I don't want to mess with my success.
I've never had the flu. Rick has and I've never seen him so sick/wiped out.
I'll take the shot (s).
Patty would your doc recommend you take the shot given the medication you take for your RA?

Yes, Dr. Chang said I should get both flu shots. I'm a stubborn ol' woman and I won't do it.
As I said, I've never had it (the flu) either. However, a simple cold can really pi$$ off my asthma. I was sick for three weeks before SF 2007 because of complications from a cold and then asthma. The flu often causes respiratory issues. I don't want to take the chance, so I get the shots. I've never had anything more than a sore arm from the shots, and I'm used to having sore arms lately.

Why? They don't give you the flu, and someone with RA taking your meds could get really, really sick with the flu.
If I ever get the flu you can tell me, "I told you so." I just figure if my body has been doing fine all these years, taking care of itself, why should I put something else into it? Oh, and that's just a rhetorical question.

Geez! What are you, my mother? I don't want to get it and I don't have to. :stompsfoot:

Make sure you call me if you get the flu. I like saying "I told you so."
