One of the early discussions in that photo class I took was the importance of downloading your pictures from your memory card/camera to your computer and keeping a back up. Good protection in the event your camera is stolen, computer crashes, or memory card goes bad.

Last night, on our local news, they had segment which featured a young woman who was widowed. Her car was broken into and her camera/camera bag taken. She had two years worth of memories and pictures of her deceased husband on the cards. She was pregnant with their second child when her husband died in an accident, and her photos are all she has left to show her children.

I felt bad for this woman. She was obviously and upset.

The camera bag was found in a dumpster but no camera. Maybe those memory cards will turn up somewhere. Hope so, for her sake.
