Started to finally get in my routine doc appts after 2.5 years. First one was a visit to the imaging lab. Test was normal. Had previous surgery in 2019 and radiation so this was good news. Now all I have is the dermatologist, bone density exam, eye doc, dentist and last, but not least, colonoscopy. Should be a fun next few months.

Vito got his mother a big HDTV when he was up in NJ. She needed the cable company to come out and bring two updated boxes and hook up the new cable. When Vito called the company about reducing her bill and hooking up the new boxes, he was told there was a one time installation fee for the new service and a higher monthly charge for the updated boxes. His mother said forget that. When the tech showed up, she told him she should get the boxes for no charge and was going to another company for service because they were trying to rip off an old lady. The tech agreed and installed the two new boxes, hooked up the new cable and told her no new monthly charge. So she got it all for free. He told her not to tell his manager.

Last part of my dental work done. The permanent crown is now on. Feels good so far.

Had a friend in from CA for his mother's funeral over the weekend. Outdoor service, and since he was flying in on Sat, funeral Sun, out on Mon, I only saw him at the funeral. About an hour, outdoors. He tells me Wednesday afternoon he tested positive. Ugh...

I still get a PCR test at work each week. Had taken one Tuesday as part of my normal routine. As soon as I got the news from him, I packed up, went to the testing room, swabbed and went home. Got Tuesdays test Wed night - Negative. Got Wednesday's test last night - Negative. Whew.....

I won $100.00 and bragging rights. Out of 180 photos submitted to a bank calendar contest one of mine made the cut. It was the spring scene of the stained glass greenhouse and tulips. Now we can fill up the car with premium gas and seek out more photo ops. Maybe I will buy my guy a beer.
I also submitted that photo and a couple others to the community nurse organization. No prize money there. Just bragging rights if they use one of my photos. Patients in their care are given a calendar to help keep track of appointments.

Yes, there is a very nice one close to the Vietnam Memorial here in downtown DC. Both by the Lincoln Memorial. Certainly worth a visit!

Sent this to an old friend I grew up with, whose dad served in the Marine Corps, also. He is a West Point graduate. Twenty of his classmates are on the wall, as well as five of his platoon members. Very sad…
