^ My gut feeling was that gold is never a bad investment and should never go down, but that damn Dave always has the right answers and throws a monkey wrench into my off the cuff theories.

As far as gold is concerned, I read somewhere that 1 oz gold coin (Krugerrand) would pay for a very nice set of suit. I guess that holds true. For mere $2,000, I don't think you can get an Armani suit.

The Armani suits are made in China now, they should be a bit cheaper.

I still own my authentic Hugo Boss suit that I bought in the 1980's for $600 CDN (that was a lot of money back then) , it doesn't fit me but I refuse to get rid of it. The label on the inside of the suit says Made in West Germany

Your kidding me
I had 2 opportunities to buy an Armani suit, first was when I lived in R.I. I knew a guy who knew a guy who sold them out of his trunk for 350 dollars but I choose not to go that route. Here in VT we have an Armani store near me and a friend of mine worked there and I did find a suit I liked. I think it was around 1100 dollars and he said he could get it for me for a bit over seven hundred dollars but I didn't end up buying it.

I threw away my last suit around 30 years ago. I live in shorts & Birkenstocks. Don't have any socks either butI think I still have a couple ties.
Life is good.

Seems like people dress up less and less over the last few years or even decades. I remember coming back from a funeral I had a suit on and stopped in a store and everybody looked at me like I was a game show host.

Yeah but a baby blue suit with all the frills would elicit that kind of a response Rob ! lol.
