GM announces Z06 Vette
Wow, 625HP and 635 foot pounds of torque. More power and torque than the ZR1 and it looks stunning. Goes on sale in early 2015. Probably around 100K.

Great bang for the buck. 2014 Tail lights from the Camaro parts bin are hideous

I think from a power and handling aspect the Vette makes a good statement, and great value, but I don't think they went far enough when it comes to style. But apparently good new design is tough to come by these days judging by some of the 'sports car' concepts shown so far at the Detroit Auto Show. A Ford Mustang concept that looks like a '63 Stingray, a Toyota concept that looks like a Vette and Viper combined, and a Kia that looks like an Audi, etc., etc.

I agree on the Camaro taillights but the interior is the best ever. And the power and handling on just a base vette is phenomenal. One of my customers just ordered the base model and at around 55K I think it is a bargain compared to other vehicles in it's class. I will be detailing it in the future so I will and have to pick it up and return it.

Just heard an interesting comment on the new Vette - GM said it had more downforce in the wind tunnel than any car GM has ever tested! I presume that meant a production car.

I just don't need the Z06. I'll bet 80% of the people who buy it don't need the Z06 either, but so many sports car people imagine they have skills that can exploit the limits of this car. In reality, the stock Vette is well beyond most of them.

I would go with the stock vette. The ZO6 is way beyond my driving abilities and so is the cost.

I guess I really need to see one in the flesh. The photos leave me cold.
