Gladys Horton, the original lead singer of the Marvelettes, died at the age of 65. The Marvelettes, known for such songs as "Please Mr. Postman", "Beachwood 4-5678", "The Hunter Gets Captured By the Game" and "Don't Mess with Bill", were the first girl group, and the first group, to score a number 1 hit for Motown on the Tamla label. Thnak you for lots of great music.
