Maybe all us big and tall guys, that want to lose the girth should start a thread where we make lbs and time commitments so we can get in and out of our S2000's easier. Apparently I need some motivation.

By the way, I have the added issue of dealing with the Alcantara material seats in the CR, your butt doesn't slide on those like leather. Also, I can't just put the top down and get in and then put it back up, I got to take the hard top off.

I believe the +1 is 6'1" and 185. But he is a serious runner and works out pretty religiously. He doesn't weigh much more than I do!

I'm game,

My wife is a Type 2 diabetic and we have been semi-successfully working on getting the carbs out our diets. It's been a challenge though as we are originally from New Orleans and pretty much everything we are used to eating has rice in it

My weight had gotten up about 215 and I definitely don't want to do that again. I'm not much of an exercise person, but we bought a sit down elliptical machine (easier on LOML's knees) that I ride 3-4 times a week for 30 minute workouts. If nothing else it's giving me more stamina which I find is diminishing as I get older.

The reduction of carbs and the bike riding has me dropping 1/4 to 1/2 pound per week. I think that is a good pace. The problem is when we go back to New Orleans. I always gain 4-5 pounds which sets me back a month or so on the progress.

I did come across something called an Elliptigo yesterday, and I'm intrigued with that. We have dealers in the area, so I'm going to go try one out. The only issue is the price. They are spendy. But saying that the elliptical bike was $2K. I would just need to justify in my mind that I would ride it enough to get value from it. And now that we are coming up on winter, it's probably not an ideal time as the days are getting short and soon it will be dark when I get home from work. I really don't want to be riding a bike around here in the dark.

Anyway if a member of the Vintage club wants to start a biggest loser, I'm game.

Thanks to all for the conversation

chris

Chris - The Mid-Atlantic guys had a thread for biggest loser. You could bump that one up again if you want to try something local.

Never mind - it's a couple of years old. I guess they gave up.

^I could be called their biggest fan! I will go look for the thread I started on the ElliptiGO and post a link. BTW, if you're on facebook, put ElliptiGo in the search box and find the ElliptiGO group. Someone will add you as a member once you request it. I started the group and the posts are mainly from owners asking each other questions or telling about their latest discovery or ride. You can ask anything you want in there and get a wide variety of responses. We have people who only ride a few miles and a bunch that ride 100 miles. I've had one for a year now and ride 34 miles three times a week. LOVE IT!
