Getting into your S2000
#11
#2 is the best way to get in. Put your right foot in near the gas peddle and move your fanny over while it's still elevated, off the seat" and than bring in your left leg. The S is a car that you wear like a pair of blue jeans.

Wait until you turn 68. You can build a lift. I miss many things about not having the S anymore but entry and exit is not one of them. So what do I do. I buy an 03 Jeep with big tires that is lifted and now I use a step ladder to get in and out. More room for a step ladder in a Jeep.

H'mmm, I joined the forum in May after I bought "Jessica"! I've put about 3,500 miles on her and am loving every drive.
Dunno why it says I just joined
I have just recently gotten my intro into the vintage section
Thanks for the wishes!

6'1" and ~250 lbs and days shy of 55
with the top down, I get in race car style, step in and put both feet on the bar just in front of the seat, sit and then extend my legs.
top up is an ugly adventure.
sit and roll towards the passenger side and pull my legs in behind me. first right then left.
I just love it when somebody parks in close to the drivers door......

Geez.....I've got almost 20 years [the wrong way] on the OP, am 6'-2" more or less and a tad under 250 lbs. I use method #2 exactly like Jet sitter does with the top down and method #1 with it up [but I never touch the handbrake like the OP].
Had the car for almost 8 years and the seats are just fine.

I'm only 66 and at 5'11" and 230 I find putting my right foot in and falling into the seat easiest way in. Getting out is harder. I put both feet out and pull myself out with my left arm on the rear of the door opening.
Really uggly entrance and exit is in an Elise or a G20 Ginetta. Elise has a very wide side sill that is higher than the seat and the Ginetta does not have doors.

I put the top down, get about 30 feet behind the S, run like crazy while throwing myself in the air, feet forward. The goal is to come down right into the seat, over the rear end of the car.
Did I mention that I only did this once and was in rehab for 16 months?
j/k, I'm a #2 guy.
