Default General FRS channel for SF12

Hey folks, many folks will be arriving at different times. I will keep one radio on tuned to CH 5 subchannel 0 from when I arrive on Thurs, and should be active as long as I am on the hotel property. If you are looking for someone this might be a good way to find them.

That sounds like a winner, Zippy. The Ohio crew will be rolling in late in the day on Thursday. We generally run 4.0 -- same as the official Spring Fling channel according to the itinerary. We can check ya on channel 5 also. We have found (as have most, I'm sure) that different brands and vintages of FRS radios do subchannels differently and on some radios it is selectable and some not. We find it best to stick to the main channel "X.0" channels.

Yep, the idea is to have a "chat" channel and keep the drive channel "pristine", and with 91 people coming, there will always be someone looking for someone else.

We use a "Dry-Erase" board, set up in the lobby, @ the Dragon Events, so peeps can write contact info, room numbers, cell numbers....just anything you want the group to know...This works great...Maybe the hotel has one ????

Another good idea, at trade shows they used to put up a cork board and a stack of "while you were out" blanks.

Official FRS channel for SF'12 is Channel 4.0. I'll see about getting a white board or a cork board or a lot of chewing gum and some WYWO pads.

We're driving down from the north on Friday morning. We'll be on channel 2 on the way down. I'll tune in to 5.0 when we get to Hagerstown.

Please use channel 4.0 for the drives. Let's not confuse any more people than necessary.

note to self, remember how to change the channels on the ^%$^% radios.

After a meeting of the minds .
We will confuse everyone coming with three additional FRS channels. (not really)
Actually, please try to use FRS Channel 4 for driving related issues and all drive communication, beyond that I will be monitoring channl 5 on Thursday and Friday for chat purposes
