Patty, I don't care for the checkerboard either, but that would not stop me from getting tiles. Just get them all the same color.

With respect to my post above (#3), it actually took 4 kits, so the total cost for the Quick-Crete approach was about $2 per square foot. Here's a picture, and keep reading:

We had an overnight house guest, and we had her put her car in the garage. With studded snow tires. (Cringe.)
So, here's a heads up: Studded snow tires will create havoc with these finishes. I now know that from first-hand experience.
This was actually an OK thing for me to find out by accident this way, as the one-time damage is minimal, and now I know never to get studded snows.
I don't know about other finish products, but I bet that anything that goes on in a paint-like mode is vulnerable to studs. HPH

Several of you posted your garage floors. I am going to redo my garage floor and would like to hear how the various garage floors have held up. I am looking at the expoxy paint, race deck tiles, and the peel/stick tiles. Any suggestions?

Patty, no local contractors for Premier Garage.
On the race deck tiles, they do look good (the checkered flag pattern), but I'm concerned in the winter, when there is dirt, mud, and other crap that drops off your car. Are they easy to clean?

I have used this product in two high traffic shops with no issues. I put roll out vinyl flooring over the parking areas for added durability/appearance.

I did the U-Coatit myself. My garage floor was about 20 years old, and had been subjected to numerous oil leaks and silicone tire dressings. I admit that I didn't properly prep the floor: I was in the tool rental place looking at the Edco concrete grinder and didn't have a way to transport it. So I didn't rent it. Big mistake.
In spite of my inadequate prep work, I only have a few small places (a quarter would cover each of them) that didn't adhere. Since the salt was breaking up the concrete before the U-Coatit, I'm a happy camper overall.

if I thought it could stand up to our winters, I'd probably do it.
as it is however I have to shovel the sand piles from under the cars two or three times a winter.
