Gaming Consoles
I have decided to "cash in" some of my United Airline miles (now that I no longer travel on business) for stuff and I am considering a gaming console. It is my understanding that the Play Station 3 (PS3) has the most realistic view. My first interest is getting the Formula One 2011 game and perhaps a wheel with pedals.
I am curious as to your suggestions?
Should I go with the PS3, an X-Box or a Wii?
What do you think is the most realistic?
I am all "ears"
Thank you for your in-put.

It is my understanding from reading reviews, etc. that PS3 is the best buy because it has a blu ray player, so if you want a blu ray you get both in one package. I do not play games so I'm no help there. However, for movie viewing, etc. you get two for one with PS3. I looked it up because my daughter wants a PS3 and is trying to find a good deal. Here is a comparison of consoles done by CNet: Which game console to buy

I've seen both with the grandkids, and it looks like PS 3 would be the favorite. You can play online (race) and it's free but with XBox there is a fee. Also as valentine stated the blu ray player!

ah matt I've been struggling with making the case for the a console myself.
without any hard technical basis the Xbox has never seemed to be the answer.
The PS3 and Gran tourismo whooped my butt when we had an event at my house and one of the guys brought up his set up.
Start looking at wheels. I enamored with the Logitech G27.

Beware: I think being a virtual reality racer could become additive.

My +1 has been into video games for years. That's his down time, usually from 10:00-11:00 PM. No addictions allowed.
He likes the racing games, but hasn't spent the $ on a separate wheel or driving "stuff." He does pretty well with the small hand held controls.
He has been happy with his PS3 that I bought him a few years ago.

Ps3 hands down... Xbox is cool but you have to pay for xbox live aka online play. The playstation network is free. Be careful though grab turismo 5 is very addictive. Especially if you do purchase a wheel to go with it. G27 is a good one. Depending on the budget or just for fun check out type in GT5 cockpit on YouTube and the options are endless.

As a Gemini,I grow cold with things quickly and didn't want to invest a bunch of money in an XBox etc. I went on Ebay (a year ago) and bought a Logitech wheel and pedals that was brand new but not the latest version, for under 100 bucks. Then I got one or two auto racing software programs and it's been fun. It's all I needed or wanted. Sure gives me a crick in my next if I sit too long though.
