Default Front brake pads

I just checked by front brake pads at 30K and found that they were worn below 1/2 of the pad. The rears are fine. I changed the front/rear pads on my 2000 Accord at 105K. Is this normal wear for the S?

It completely depends on how you drive.

I can (literally) burn through a set of OEM S2000 brake pads in about half an hour.

All 4 wheels or just the fronts? I'm guessing there is some front brake bias. Mine are all still good at 45K but I haven't tracked the car.

Newer S2000s may have a bias controller, I'm not sure. I think Honda calls it "Electronic Brake Distribution". Older cars, like the AP1s we seem to be talking about here, basically have a fixed bias and it's assumed the ABS will just kick in if necessary. You can tune the bias a bit on the older cars by running different brake compounds.

I meant a fixed front bias. My car's older than yours.

Brake wear is mostly driver controlled.

Or as my late father once remarked after I praised the brake wear on my '88 Grand AM:

"Son you have to use something to wear it out."
