Friday Night.......

As opposed to Patty's 40+ mile EliptiGO ride, tonight, I took a cue from Lainey's post, and popped some popcorn in my Whirley Pop, which I haven't done in quite a while. No butter, though, so I'm sure it's low cal!
Anyway, being retired, EVERY night is Friday night, as far as I am concerned!

I honestly can't remember a Friday night we stayed home unless one of us was REALLY sick. Usually we are hit a couple places - one to eat & drink - and then one to join several other couples for night caps.
Tonight we were in Ann Arbor which is 45 minutes east. Went to an Irish pub and had several Smithwicks and Kate’s Shepherd Pie (ground beef & lamb in Bass Ale gravy, etc…). Lots of laughs. But certainly not enough Smithwicks to brave black pudding (sausage made from cooked pig’s blood, etc.).
Tomorrow we will be in Lansing which is 45 minutes north for an annual dinner party at a car guy's place.
Sunday afternoon we were to meet another couple for dinner at the Bone Island Grill (a fun joint) but those plans just fell through. Might have to stay home!
We do tape Blue Bloods on Friday night, so that's almost like staying home - right?

I took my Ninety-six year old Mother to my local Moose Lodge where she has become somewhat of a "Bar Star" for doing Fireball shooters (although she sips it). She wants to return home to Long Island . There is more to this story but I don't wish share now.

I always veg. out on Fri nights l'm usually too beat to go out I like to do my carousing on Sunday nights because I'm usually rested up by then but I do pay for it on Monday mornings! Last night I worked a 12 hour day and had my bi-weekly phone chat with my folks when I got home then watched a little T.V. and hit the sack.

Friday night means Happy Hour in one of the beach bars near our home. Meeting with old friends, making new ones, drinking beer, cracking crabs, or eating crab cakes, dancing when the band shows up, going home and sleeping in on Saturday. Life is Good!

Spent 4 hours Friday night setting up equipment in a cadaver lab at the local medical school. Got home at 9:00, ate dinner and went to bed. Not my usual Friday night. The company I work for is doing a clinical study on a new piece of equipment for FDA approval. I went back and spent 10 hours with the cadavers on Saturday.
The usual Friday evening is sitting on the couch with my honey catching up on what we have recorded on the DVR. We go out to dinner about once a week, but avoid Friday nights like the plague because the restaurants are so busy.
