Windows 10 apparently updated early this morning. I have been fighting all day to fix the crap it did to my PC. Even now, everything runs extremely slow, plus Google Chrome still won't connect reliably to the Internet. My PC is old, so I just ordered a new one from Dell. Now the PIA process of moving files, emails, and programs to the new one.

Really, it took a good friend 10+ years to get me to change. I learned PC's on the job in business and I was 100% microsoft. What was also interesting was a terrific PC guy who ran all the back-up stuff at our company (all micosoft, SUN, etc.,) was the other person who convinced me to change; as his boss had convinced him. He's retired now, like me, and he is still 100% Apple.... and he really stays on top of all this computer nerdy stuff. I can recall him telling me to use Goggle as a search engine like 20 years ago.

Against Dave's wishes, I didn't cancel my Dell order. I was pleasantly surprised when the FedEx guy showed up at 10:30 this morning with my order. That's pretty quick service! Anyway, I am almost through setting up the new one. Just glad I back up all my files every night! Reinstalling the programs is a bit of a hassle, but so far, so good.

Well, I'm now nearly 8 hours into this. The initial Windows update took close to 2 hours. My major issue is getting all the product keys from previously installed software and downloading them. Luckily, all my critical files, including pictures and financial stuff copied over with no errors.

Sorry Gene but The last time I upgraded from my Mac Air to the Mac Pro it took less than a 1/2 hour. Almost all of that was done thru Time Machine while I had an adult beverage.
