I never had Popeyes before so I got two pieces to try out today for the first time. . I thought Popeyes was terrible. I then went next door and picked up KFC, which I preferred. It is still crappy food in general but sometimes you just get a craving for it. We don't have much of a choice here when it comes to fried chicken, just those two brands, there is one other called Mary Browns but it is harder to find with a low number of locations. After I eat it I tend to regret it.
I’ve never had Popeye’s before. I love KFC but don’t eat it anymore as I have no self control and I always feel like I got hit by a truck after I eat it.

Like many here I love fried chicken but it doesn't love me. We have KFC, Popeye's, etc. but there is local take out that has been serving our area for decades. Oh my it's so so good but I have had any in maybe 3 decades. It's the smell that carries outside that grabs me. But I know better.

Good fried chicken is hard to resist.

Everyone in our area used to rave about the Frankenmuth fried chicken restaurants. When I finally got to eat it I thought it was okay.

I have officially eaten my last piece of fried chicken, I should have known better. I was up all night with heartburn, the bad kind that burns your throat with acid reflux. Tums and milk were barely enough to quell it once it started. I am officially done with fried chicken. I should have expected this.

As much as I like KFC, I will get that maybe once a year. My wife doesn't want me to eat fried chicken. We now buy Peruvian chicken such as Don Pollo or Lime Chicken occasionally. It is not fried but has very mellow seasoned taste. It is basically roasted chicken like Costco's but tastes much better in my opinion. I haven't bought Costco chicken in years.

I hear ya, you got the right idea. I never liked Costco chicken, my sister used to get it all the time, I think they inject it with flavouring fluid so it is artificially juicy, so it wasn't my fancy.

Have not had fried chicken in a long time. We eat a lot of roast chicken. I use the leftovers to make chicken tetrazzini or chicken gumbo. Turns out Safeway roast chicken is our preferred bird.

We eat a lot of chicken. Often boneless breast marinated, cooked on the grill. Never deep fried. KFC might happen every other year. We have a good sized chicken in the freezer. Ally and Ryan will be joining us for dinner on Tuesday. My son and daughter in law will be away for a few days. 26th wedding anniversary. The years are flying by.

Rick is making a bolognese sauce today. It's a rainy day so he thought he'd do some cooking. He made a tasty stew the other day. Leftovers of that tonight. . Yesterday I picked up fresh scallops from the fish market. He pan fried them. Very tasty!

If weather improves, maybe we will head out tomorrow and grab a bite somewhere.

We like beer can chicken - very easy to do on a grill and makes a great bird. The can of beer is optional...

I do miss my Grandma's fried chicken...

I found a bag of dried lentils in the pantry, so time for lentil soup this week, one big pot goes a long way. I started making the soup this morning, hoping to have some for lunch but it gets better the longer it sits and will be better tomorrow.
