We had a good wood-oven pizza tonight at a restaurant, we have eaten there before and it is the best in our area. I also make my own at home with my pizza oven which is just as good but we wanted to eat out tonight, and making pizzas at home is a messy proposition.

My mother and Aunt invited us over for lunch today, for my birthday. My mother is 88 years old, but she still makes the best home made ravioli in the world, that is her specialty. I've had ravioli from all over but never even close to how Mom makes them by hand. It is a painstaking process to make them fresh in small batches with home made pasta and filling, all rolled and hand cut. She made ground beef versions and cheese versions, cooked in a home made tomato sauce from this season's local roma tomatoes. They canned tomato sauce to last for the next 12 months (yearly tradition). She also made home made cutlets, breaded chicken and veal. Home made meatballs and simple salad. It was so good, she still has her touch despite the age. We cant eat like that every week but once a year is very much welcomed, so much yum. Thanks to Mom !

Thanks Sue. Yeah I know that I have to eat a good portion to make her happy, it is so funny how much happiness they get from feeding their children, and nothing makes them more happy, lol.

That is how Vito turned into a tub when he was young. Eating upstairs with the grandparents after school, then having another meal with his parents downstairs.

My grandparents lived next to us, I often slept in their home as they had extra bedrooms and I didn't want to be near my sisters, lol. Needless to say I got lots of extra meals too, including stale cheetos which my grandmother kept on the table 24/7, lol, and lots of Canada Dry ginger ale.
