I've got a batch in the making this evening, I was inspired by that video and how simple it looks. I have a bunch of oats sitting around not being used so why not. All you need is a blender and a strainer it seems.

The Numilk home machine looks cool, not badly priced for the machine, but the pouches can range up to $5.00 each, I assume that makes 1 litre at a time, so still a bit pricey to make. The pouches that are $3.00 each are a bit more affordable.

My current coffee machine and grinder setup has cost me around $3k , I am one of those people lol

I'm lactose intolerant, but like to eat cereal so I started using almond milk years ago. My favorite is toasted coconut almond milk from Califia Farms. I've also enjoyed oat milk from time to time.

So from the video it appears oat milk is basically oatmeal and water so I wonder how the companies that sell it justify the high prices they put on their oat milk.

We ordered couple of ducks from Tao and couple of cakes from Magnolia Bakery in NYC for my Mom's 89th birthday. Ducks turned out ok and cakes were decent. Ordering food from out of state has its limitations, I think. I don't think there is a substitute for dining in the restaurant. No matter how closely you follow the instruction, it just isn't same.

The same way Whole Foods justifies its prices. Anything organic automatically conveys better and worth the extra money. Seems plenty of people agree!

This is my first batch of Oat milk, I need to find a finer strainer as the ones I have don't strain fine enough and I don't want to use cheesecloth. It soaked overnight and blended this morning. It is in the fridge cooling off now, I will strain it a second time before drinking. It certainly comes out creamy and milk-like.

I added a hint of vanilla and a touch of sugar, very small amount though. I used 2 cups of oats and 6 cups of water 3:1 ratio, I might add more water next time as it was pretty thick after blending, so maybe 4:1 next batch. Excuse the cat , she just had to sneak into the pic.

My wife went all out for Easter, she baked carrot cake, made a batch of pizzelle wafer cookies, set a nice table, and decorated the entire home. We whipped up a batch of home made lasagna as the main course for our lunch. My wife is a stay at home mom who battles a number of medical issues, she really enjoys doing this for each holiday season and is quite good at it. We couldn't be with our extended family so it is just our immediate family celebrating at home.

Happy Easter to those who celebrate.

I'm working tonight and all day tomorrow and tomorrow night so I figure I better eat some protein. I've got some boneless/skinless chicken marinating in garlic, onion, basil, oregano, salt and pepper with some Italian dressing sprinkled on and a little orange and some mustard. I'll have some peas and raw spinach with it.
When my Mom was alive we always had a big ham with a maple glaze and cooked with pineapples and a few cherries on top. We would have crescent rolls and peas and scalloped or au gratin potato's and chocolate cream pie for desert and my sister would always bring a relish tray with stuffed celery, pickles, olives etc.
