Default Florida Fossil Fest II

Since Dean has abdicated (or is that delegated?) planning for FFFII, I'm staring at the calendar and trying to get organized. Would the weekend of March 23-24-25 conflict with anything else?

Edited to add minor details:

Where: Base from our house in Fruitland Park, FL -- off Highway 441/27 just north of Leesburg.

Hotel: For those interested, I've blocked rooms at the Lady Lake Microtel. Supposedly, we're now in the Microtel's computer and you should be able to make your hotel reservations. The rate is $71 for one queen bed; $81 for two queen beds or $85 for a "suite" (per Raymo this is a king bed, fridge/mirowave, wet bar etc). Please call the hotel directly @ 352/259-0184 and be sure to tell them you are with the Honda Car Club when you make your reservation. They'll hold this block of rooms until Feb 23, then it's on an "as available" basis though I seriously doubt they will fill up.

Tentative Plan: Friday night meet & greet at our house with some sort of consumables. (Note for those allergic to dogs and sand -- we have a lot of both which we try to keep confined but that doesn't always work!)

Saturday we're considering several possibilities, one of which is a drive to Homassassa Springs (where the manatee rehab park is)

Saturday night back to our place for dinner and whatever......................

Sunday for anyone wanting to stay, we can plan another drive.

Editied again because I'm still in need of more
If you think you can attend (and we hope you all can!), please PM me so I can start an attendee list. Thanks!

Attendee List:

Dean +1 (or is that too obvious?)
Raymo +1
Valentine +1
S1997
Vyktor
Grannyrod
Willinathen +1
Dr. Cloud +1
jaylynch +1

Tentative:
Rdrunner +1 (David, I refuse to remove you whether you're coming or not!)

Date is fine for me. Big questions are where and what happens?

Oops. Sorry, I should have been more specific. See above edited post.

How I wish we could join you, but I don't see it happening. I hope the FFF II is a great success!

Here's hoping you make it to SF07, and/or maybe we can make arrangements for a visit with you folks when you visit CT in the summer.

Oh, and Martha, that Dean guy can pin Florida Fossil Fest threads, if you want him to.

I hear he's kind of cranky, but if you ask nice.....

Very clever. You slid it in between St. Patrick's Day, Passover, and Easter.

We'll be there if we're on the invitation list.

The price at the Microtel sounds about right.

Of course I avoided St. Patrick's Day -- you think we want to watch you dressed in a leprechaun outfit drinking green beer?

You'd BETTER be here!

If my disposition isn't to your liking, you can always take your job back.
