Got my flashlight back today. Neighbor said it had a one day warranty, and that has passed. He said he couldn't imagine how they assembled it in China. He bought me this one from Harbor Freight. Same design but bigger, heavier, and made of metal, with two settings and five times brighter. $5. Good neighbor.
