Fantastic schedule! I LOVED the helicopter tour of Kauai. Simply spectacular! And all that red dirt. Too bad you don't have time to belly up to the bar at Hale Koa on Waikiki and share some old war stories. Look forward to your pics.

Have fun I have done almost that same trip except I did it for 13 days, my favorite spot was the lanai island. The sheer diversity of it and the garden of the gods was incredible. If you get a chance try to get to lanai. The other must see on Lanai is shipwreck beach on a clear day when you can see over to molokai.

Garden of the gods!

shipwreck beach

and don't forget Lanai is one of the best places to see the monk seals.

Last thing about Lanai its where Bill Gates tied the knot.

Aloha FLA-Vyk

Enjoy your trip.

Are you going to visit the USS Arizona Memorial? If so I would be interested in knowing how many seconds between the diesel bubbles come up to the surface as the tanks rust out.

I have been very fortunate to have visited the Aloha State on twenty-two occasions over my professional career and it is truly a wonderful experience and unlike any other place on earth. Each island has it's own personality and quite frankly IMHO those that go only to Waikiki (on Oahu) and never see anything else but Waikiki really missed "the boat". IMHO that is like visiting Manhattan and claiming to have seen New York State. I have family out on the North Fork of Long Island and over the years people cannot believe that one can walk for miles along the beaches of Long Island (even in the summer months) and not see another person.

Of course the Finger Lakes region, the Catskill's and the Adirondack's are a whole other story. I have shown pictures that I have taken around the Lake George area and could have passed them of as pictures that I have taken in Germany. Sorry.

That may be wrong. Iolani Palace is in Honolulu (on Oahu island). Hilo is on the Big Island (the Hawaii island). There are several craters on Oahu island (where Honolulu is located), the most recognizable being Diamond Head. But I don't know where Kilohara Crater is on Oahu. If you have the time, by all means visit Pearl Harbor while at Honolulu.
