Default Fire Extingusher Recall

Likely you've heard of the massive recall for 134 models, sold under a variety of names. Here's a link to check. We have five I had to check out and it appears none were in the recall.

The recall is for extinguishers with plastic handles only. I have two, but they both have metal handles.

All three of ours are on the recall list. I have registered with them and the new one should be here in a few weeks.

They are suppose to include instructions as to what to do. They may make good target practice.

Thanks for the heads up. I have at least three to check at home.

Yes, thanks, Dave. Who knows. You may have saved someone here a lot of grief.

Checked mine. All First Alert, which is not on the list. Worth checking for sure, though.

Thanks, for this post. I checked mine... they are all First Alert. But, it's good to recheck the gauges and refresh the noodle, where they are located.

Thanks Dave. When I first checked they only had a bare-bones description of the units that were being recalled posted on their web site. The list I found from the site you posted is far more specific. I have at least 9 extinguishers to check....

I got the replacement for my 5 pound extinguisher today. I nice metal handled one. It also came with instructions and a label to ship, via FEDEX, the old one back. I wonder how long before my smaller ones will be replaced. My guess is soon as they don't want the liability if one doesn't work or malfunctions.
