Raul needs to step down. He claims he will in 2018.
As for relations, who really knows what the majority of the people of Cuba think, believe or want? I feel like we have been misled over and over again by politicians who claim to know that the "people" of some of our enemy countries would happily reject their leadership and welcome us with open arms. Those notions usually come from dissidents who want to see the enemy government overturned. In fact, the "people" of those countries often have other ideas. If we learned anything from Iraq is should be that we really don't know anything about what people from other countries want. Hell, many of us had no idea what our fellow Americans wanted three weeks ago.

The citizens of major cities have done well thanks in large part due to Cubans living in the U.S.sending money, medicine and even car parts. The outer villages are not as fortunate and represent the forgotten side of Cuba. As bad as they fair it's better than the thousands killed by the Castro brothers. Meanwhile cities in Florida with large Cuban populations are holding two night celebrations after hearing of Castro's death.

It is estimated that 1 in 10 Cubans has left the country. That's a pretty high number.

Day 2 into the official 9-day mourning period according to Radio Havana today while the condolences pour in from major world leaders and governments praising Castro as a great leader and humanitarian. That's what the English broadcast said today anyway.
