Am I just mean? We stop feeding the birds during the summer although this year I have put out a humming bird feeder. No humming birds yet, it's usually July before we see any.

Lots of cropping, but you can see his wing action!

We have a pair of Sandhill Cranes that are year round residents in our area. They landed in our yard when I was turning the horses out... so I grabbed the camera and just hung out. I think they forgot I was leaning on the fence and came very close.

What a cool shot of the crane. Val has so many birds in her yard in SC. Several were spreading their wings to dry in the sun. Blue jays, cardinals, etc. Even saw a couple of hummingbirds at her feeder. She has a lovely sunroom where you can watch them up close.

We have two nests in our back yard. A mockingbird's nest which is empty and a Mountain Scrub Jay's. I attached my Iphone to my golf ball retriever, turned on the video camera and telescoped it out and up into the tree. When Momma Jay saw it coming up, she started after me, squawking up a storm. On the video there are at least two babies in the nest, don't have any feathers yet. Maybe a week old???
