Feeding the Birds

It's grand central station at our feeders as well. Snow and freezing wind will do that.

I'll call this "Rear View." I was quite close to the feeder.
Haven't seen this guy in a while...through the window.

: I have camera buddies that have built a blind so they can grab bird photos.
I saw your finches on the thistle feeder pic, Mike. I used to put out the thistle bags and they were quite popular, of late, the finches prefer the seed feeders. Those birds know what they want!

I might get four or five hanging around at once, that's about it. They take turns at the feeder a couple at a time.

^ Keep feeding them. It builds up over time. We have dozens and dozens at the same time now on several feeders!

With the exception of a handful of migratory Blue Jays, the winter birds that visit my feeders are either earth toned or black. We set out an “energy” suet, sunflower seeds and peanuts. Maybe something else to attract some color.
Following Lainey’s examples, I’ve attach a few photos taken from inside my kitchen windows of the “earth tone” birds who visit my feeders.
