Feeding the Birds
#451
Within a week of switching my feeder to all sunflower seeds, I've had, besides the usual Sparrows and Chickadees, Nuthatches, Brown Creeper, and Titmice are regulars. The flowing bush by the window is full of bumble bees and a couple Hummingbirds. I'm never quick enough to get a photo of the hummingbirds.
I love watching the nuthatches run down the feeder pole and run down the tree trunks (usually the dead ash tree nearby)
Lousy cell phone pix....

Isn't bird feeding/watching fun?
I'm dealing/accepting the inevitable in nature. The neighbor's cat has "scored" a few of my backyard birds over the summer, I think he/he got one today. I'm not happy about it; we chase him/her away whenever we can, but if people don't keep their cats indoors (as suggested by the Humane Society) there's not much I can do.
But back to the hummingbirds....not a sharp shot, but I loved the wing action here...
