Yeah, I don't think I've ever seen either one of those.

Never had heard of this bird before..... had to look it up with my Merlin bird app, then got my sister (bird addict) to agree that is what we saw.

Wasn't in the backyard, but saw a couple red crowned kinglets this past weekend while walking....
If they hadn't moved, would never have seen them... pretty small.

Look at the eaglets! You can really see their big feet. No more snuggling under Momma now. In full screen mode, it's amazing to watch them.

Been enjoying seeing throngs of Cedar Waxwings. I LOVE the way they flit through the air like big butterflies. They'll be gone after they manage to eat all the berries off everything that produces berries.

We had a Northern Flicker in the garden on April 13. When I was checking out what type of bird it was I had noted the last time I saw one - it was April 12, 2008, only eight years between sightings! Obviously he was just passing through.

LOVE those Northern Flickers!!! We had a pair here during the winter and I loved seeing them. Haven't seen them for a couple of months, so I guess they've left.

We only saw the male but I do hope he will soon be, if not already, part of a pair.
