I guess I'm too successful at feeding the birds...this guy has been hanging around a lot lately!

Don't think I've ever seen so many morning doves out back.... 15-20 at any one time.

And the cardinals have arrived.....4-10 at any time.

Along with 10-20 sparrows, junkos, wrens, red bellied woodpecker (1) and a couple of downys!

Couple of flybys by the hawks....

Good day looking at the birdfeeders

Sounds like you need traffic lights!!!

Still slow at my feeders, but I did see the usual suspects today and only a few sparrows.

We used to feed the birds but mostly we fed the squirrels. Maybe we will try again during spring migration.

It has been really cold here so the bird activity is up dramatically. Had to refill two feeders twice yesterday since the gold finches have re-discovered my feeders. Loads and loads of cardinals, titmice, white throated sparrows flitting about on the ground and doves along with chickadees, little house finches, purple finches, warblers, siskins, nuthatches and more. I love it. Haven't seen the woodpeckers much, but did see a little downy woodpecker climbing up/down the trees. I've been putting out peanuts every morning for the squirrels and bluejays and they're gobbling them up before 10 am. I even saw a little titmouse flying off with a peanut that was as big as he was.

I don't see much of the bird activity except on the weekend. I know the sparrow visits are limited as there is still seed in the feeders. I freshened it last weekend.

I did feel bad for the sparrows, so I tossed a fair amount of seed on the ground and hung a large "bird granola bar" in an area where they should find it.

Wow...that is a dramatic turnaround in your bird situation. Good!
