The birds seem a little sparse this year. Maybe because there isn't any snow cover? I normally fill the feeders every third day but I am now doing it about every 12 days.

Could be. Maybe they can still forage for what's left in the woods.

We haven't seen any let up to speak of but still nothing like the old winter-white days. Daughter gave us a nice cedar and copper bird house.

We had a pileated woodpecker here today . . . we rarely see them . . . so big and cool looking.

Not my yard. I spotted these two guys on my favorite nature trail last winter. I look for them whenever I pass the spot where I saw then but haven't seen them again.

We have tons of bird activity today of all kinds. Here's a shot of some of the cardinals. How many can you count?

Think I see 12 cardinals and one other bird that looks like a sparrow.
