So, now I'm on this Eagle fascination. I've been home, quarantined between the guest bedroom, my office and the guest bath. All combine, maybe 300 sf. Whatever room, I'm in, its a closed door. They all have windows and the weather has been great for February.
I was going to walk outside yesterday, but Cindy is overly cautious with her conditions, so I didn't push it. Today, about 2, she suggested I go for a ride in the S. So I did.
Grabbed the camera and the lens that was on it, and took a drive, specifically looking for the Eagles nest about 15 miles from me that someone at work has posted pics of. I had an idea, and headed out. Got to a little park on the Delaware, grabbed my camera and started down the trail. Well, there's the tow path trail (for the D&R Canal) and the park trail. I picked the wrong one. Hiked a bit, got to Bull's Island and turned back. Then, back in the car, crossed the Delaware and went up and down the road, until I finally spotted the nest from the PA side. I hadn't planned another hike and wasn't sure of parking, but next time I know. Also, the distance across the Delaware is only ~500 ft, which should make it within reasonable range if I go back.
There are many of them here. They've were hit hard with the Hurricane. Lots of people working to find them new holes. Gopher tortoises got hit too. You must be down this way.

I was hearing what sounded like chirping earlier in the week but could not figure out where it was coming from. Now we know. There are drainage holes out on the balcony even though it is enclosed. I put steel wool in them to keep out any curious critters. Turns out sparrows have managed to make a nest on the outside of the steel wool. Surprising since we are on the ninth floor and holes are not all that big. Sparrows around here tend to nest in the bushes. Sounds like there are babies in there but cannot see them. We are having very high winds tonight. Could be dicey.
I doubt that I will as my brother and sister have a bunch planed but thanks for the offer. I’m thinking of spending much more time down here next winter if I can find a place.
