Surprised the eagle is still in one piece after that.

Would have liked to seen the eagle fly away afterwards!

Sparrow report, house sparrow that is.

I removed some of the fishing line from the feeders. I did fear there might be too much and didn't want any birds caught up in it. I left one piece on each of two feeders, and hung one piece from each of two shepherd's hooks. It does seem to be working. I've had goldfinch feeding peacefully on the seed feeders. No house sparrows scaring them off. The tit mice, chickadees and nut hatches are stopping to feed as are the woodpeckers. I probably just had 10 sparrows out there and all were feeding on the ground.

I have one other seed and suet feeder on the other side of the yard and they are not bothering with that one either. Strange.

So far I declare my experiment a success. We'll see how it goes down the line.

The sparrows are welcome to dine here, but they have to eat from the ground.

Due to my discrimination policy with the birds, Rick is calling me the Donald Trump of bird feeders.

Not sure what is going on here, but very little traffic at our feeders. In fact, over the last two days, have seen maybe 5 birds total in the yard.

Tons of squirrels, I think there are 6-8 nests in our trees, must like all the see we put out!

Hope it's not just a slow traffic week at my feeders......I do see sparrows, but they are avoiding the feeders.

Here's a couple pics...not the best, but some of my preferred feathered friends are dining.

I finished my string holder today. I started with some very fine string but felt it wasn't easy to see so I just changed it to a white string. We will see how well it works.

This is a bad picture but it was getting dark out and wasn't going to get out the good camera.

I agree with others that the activity has been rather slow the last few days. I wonder if it has anything to do with the warm weather?

The fishing line I had was near invisible so I thought I might try the string. Time will tell.
