I feel bad for the birds because every time I go to the door they fly away I'm figuring they see me as a threat. A friend of mine told me she had a nest near her back door and when the birds had eggs they would try to attack anyone that came near them.

I'm giving up on the Baltimore Orioles. The birds that is. I have used about 1/2 jar of grape jelly with no takers. On the plus side, I put some seed in the hanging feeder/bowl that I used for jelly and the cardinals and other birds are enjoying

Our Orioles have been gone for a few weeks now. We have a lot of Grosbeaks this year.

So I stopped putting out oranges, used the jelly feeder for a little seed and guess what showed up at the humming bird feeder this AM? Yep, the Baltimore Oriole.

And the Oriole was back again. So I put the jelly back out and this time I put it near the hummingbird feeder which is where he's been seen. Stay tuned for more reports.

We have several cat birds. I hear they will eat the jelly, but they haven't been interested.

The Baltimore Orioles have visited again. I had put out the mandarin oranges for them, but the chipmunks got to them first. I felt bad that the Oriole showed up and nothing was out there. So I ordered the nectar feeder for the Orioles. We'll see if they show up for that.
