I guess we have a ways to go when it comes to the feeders. Neat.

Just went outside and switched out the feeders. Replaced the thistle bag with a fresh one. The other one was frozen. I don't put much food out at one time these days. With rain, snow, sleet, it just gets wet and clumped. Usual suspects at feeders. Nothing special to report.

Donna's had to bring our feeders in to thaw them out so she could even put new seed in.

It took about 45 minutes to dig a path across the deck and thru a drift to get to the feeders today. All are filled and the snow was removed from inside the Bluebird feeder then restocked with dried worms.
I can't believe the amount of mixed seed, sun flower seed and thistle seed they are going through. I will need to restock soon.

We had a hawk chowing down a catch most of the afternoon. Best guess; it was a red belled woodpecker.
Whatever it was it filled him up enough he stopped eating and just stood on the guts for a long time. The amazing thing to me is watching dozens of cardinals and others all flying to the feeders just 8-10 feet away as if all was normal. Somehow they all knew they were not in danger as long as he was stuffing his belly.
