Sorry Dave, I didn’t make it clear (no pun intended). These two are hitting the glass repeatedly, either trying to see a mate, or feed the other bird.or just because they are stupid. It’s the same birds, every day.
Mmaybe I should say knocking into the glass. That’s what it’s sounds like when they wake us up.

Today's experiment to cut down on sparrows. One feeder has the striped sunflower seed, no "deterrent." I wasn't home long enough today to see if the sparrows avoided that feeder. The other feeder has a mix of sunflower, safflower, nuts, etc. Popular with all the birds. That feeder has one of those clear bowls over it, and some prisms attached to fishing line. The bottle caps weren't working. We'll see how much food is left in that feeder tomorrow.

Our sparrows have slowed down a bit. I guess it worked giving them Lainey's address and a picture of her feeders!

I have seed catchers under the feeders. I noticed the sparrows were jumping up from the seed catcher to the feeder and seemed oblivious to the fishing line and prisms. So I lowered the location of the seed catchers. That may help. I watched the feeders for a while. This time I must have had 50+ visits from chickadees and titmice compared to sparrows. Watched again later more sparrows were around however very few sparrows are landing on the feeder. More of them are flapping their wings near the feeder and back up.

Been raining so much here lately (a cyclone has parked itself to the North West of NZ) even the ducks are looking for high ground.
