Really? They just park themselves on my feeders. Both the one with sunflower seeds and another with a mix of sunflower, safflower and other goodies.

They make a quick stop at the sunflower seeds but they won’t touch the thistle seeds.

Somewhere I heard that the thistle seed needs to be really fresh.

Yeah, you need to routinely clean out the feeders. They don't like smelly damp thistle.

Some times it is not the seeds but the feeder itself that needs cleaned. I am not saying that's it but the bird lady I live with takes them down a lot for a complete cleaning.
