Both the gray we video taped in 2015 and the black today were normal squirrels, just braver or hungrier than the others.

That squirrel's got the moves!
The hummingbirds are fighting for feeder time. Doesn't matter that I have three feeders available. I know this means they are stoking up their little furnaces for their journey out of here, next month.

Kinda disappointed. The squirrels seem to like the feeder better than the birds.

I can't tell you how many months (years) it has been since we have added a new bird to our backyard list (he will be #47). Adding one today, that's certainly new to us and rare. Its a Ovenbird that gets its name from the way it builds its nest. Sadly as you will see in the 2nd picture we discovered him after he hit one of our windows.

If they don't visit our yard, they don't count.

I have a whole group of hummingbirds fighting to land on the feeder and drink. The big males try to drive the others away with their sword beaks! LOL
