Feel bad for the hummingbirds, they are also fighting off the bees. I'm glad she stopped by. She's been feeding off flowers too, that is also a shot I'd like to get.

Got the new feeder Friday. I am impressed! Made in the USA and built like a tank. Heavy dury polypropylene tube and all metal fittings. The squirrels ain't gonna destroy this one!

So far, not much activity, since it's been a couple weeks since I took the other ones down. If it does OK, I plan to add a shorter one to the pole.

The hundreds of blackbirds that normally roost in the big trees down below us are now sitting on the balcony railings outside nine levels of offices of the vacant building next door, to get out of the rain. I'm guessing if there were people inside they would not be there. The same way lots wild animals have ventured into city areas they normally do not frequent.

Since I can't post a video, you'll have to use your imagination but the black blur in the middle of the picture is a black squirrel that is leaping from brush we have trimmed back twice to keep him out of the feeder. Frustrating but he is good. We also have gray that does it too.

Flying squirrels actually have wing-like structures like bats. This guy is the regular kind. Squirrels can really leap a long way!!
