Thanks Lainey, I gave the cute little guy(?) a couple peanuts. He normally shows up for peanuts when the blue jays announce that I’ve tossed them out using their high pitched chirping.

I’m noticing the same…my bird visitations have dropped off considerably in the last month. Perhaps there are new or better feeders in the area.

A raven is rare in MA (I think) but it appears one snatched one of the birds at my feeders for his lunch. A crow would not do this would it? Here's a lousy pic.

Lainey, that is NOT one of my favorites of your pictures!

(Not that the picture is bad...I'm just not a fan of the subject!)

(No offense intended.)

No offense taken, Sue. I'll try for a better subject next time!

The Blue Jays are killing me. I watched them today and they are not eating the peanuts but they are taking them and hide them.

I've only seen a Jay eat a peanut once. Most of the time they grab one and take off.
MA Audubon says it's hard to tell, but they feel my bird today was a crow.

This is a lousy photo but I was sitting at my computer wondering what the heck was going on outside. I had about 20 robins on the dead weeds next to my driveway. I keep putting out seed but robins don't eat it. Not much of anything is although I hear birds sometimes. Oh, like great horned owls, at night, lately.

In in the spring I see them hopping around with worms in their mouth from the grass.

The squirrels are not indulging in the suet that has the hot pepper in it. But since I had a few of the regular suet cakes around I put one out for them. It was gone in about two days. Red bellied woodpecker has stopped by a few times, no photo though.
