Feeding the Birds

Don't spray the foil or the light. It can get into the feathers and hurt the birds ability to fly and stay warm. Take the aluminum foil and fold it over a few times to make it stiffer. Push a hand full of sewing pins (the more the better) thru the foil so they are sticking up. Place the foil on the light and try to form it around making sure the pins stick out and not into you!

Good point Scoots. If the foil by itself doesn't work, I'll have to come up with something else. Sewing pins might not be long enough and likely hard to wrap but its a thought.

Foil worked for the first 24 hours.

You got a smart bird there, Dave.

I did spring for a heated bird bath, but the first place we put it, the birds weren't interested. I think because there was no good shelter/shrubs nearby for them. Rick moved it next to some feeders that are relatively active with shrubs and trees in "flying distance" we'll see how that goes.
Overall, feeders are relatively quiet. Squirrels enjoying lots of suet!

When the snow or freeze comes, they will use it no matter where its at.

Thanks...I wanted it close to windows for photo ops! It's still situated for that.
