Aww thanks, Dave. I may make a calendar with bird photos around Christmas ....hmmmmm...A rainy day project. Giving it a try now...not quite getting what I want.

I watched the woodpeckers a lot today. In the back yard, I believe I had a male feeding a female. On the other side of the house, it looked like a female feeding a juvenile male. Interesting. I also heard a pretty bird song right outside the TV room window, looked out and a Carolina Wren was just sitting in the window box. Not sure where it flew off to.

If you'll indulge me in yet another photo post. It's raining here AGAIN, and I spent a lot of time looking out the window, camera in hand. A nice assortment of birds today, and had to chase off than DAMN black cat a few times, then the squirrels were killing the suet. In between I snapped this one from the guest room window. That feeding "station" is the annex to the back yard. I have a suet, a feeder for the hummingbirds, a feeder with sunflower seeds and one with a mix of nuts, safflower and sunflower. The Red Bellied Woodpecker as well as the other woodpeckers, nuthatch and chipping sparrow all visited. Here's another of Mom (I think) feeding baby (male) The red on his head seems sparse like a juvenile? My photos always look sharper on my PC than here, though the head on the juvenile isn't quite in focus...such as it is shooting through the window...........for me, anyway.

My neighbor planted a hibiscus and a couple Rose of Sharon trees near his fence. Kind of close in my opinion as soon the branches will hang over our side yard and give too much shade to one of areas in which we plant flowers. Not a huge deal and Rick can clip branches that hang over. Meanwhile it's giving me an opportunity to photograph the birds in a better environment. Transferred from camera to phone so not sure of quality on this one. Feeding the Birds-photo931.jpg
