You got snow! My daughter said it took her an hour to drive the 12 miles to work at the Denver Zoo. We didn't get in up here in Loveland.

^ It happens all of the time, Patty. Colorados’s front range has very diverse and unpredictable weather patterns that will deviate considerably within 20-40 miles.

My daughter just posted this on Facebook, "The zoo got 8.5"! Majority of people were super late to work."

My feeders are still pretty quiet. One of the Y ladies said it's the same at her house.

Our feeders are well attended even in this -35 weather. The only thing that is keeping them away for short periods of time is the newly resident hawk. He keeps visiting but he needs to eat to stay alive as well.

A different hawk came looking for food today. Anyone would think we lived in the country rather than the suburbs.

I drove up the street into our little development yesterday and saw a most beautiful hawk sitting proudly up on a tree branch. My house was up the street and around a corner from where he/she sat, but perhaps that explains the lack of activity at our feeders. I don't ever recall seeing so few birds around. The jays will show up if the peanuts are out.
