The hummingbirds are now fighting off the yellow jackets at the feeders. It's the time of year I guess. Meanwhile, Dave's favorite "the fat lazy pigeons" are making themselves at home in the seed catcher. I continue to "hunt" for birds regularly at my two favorite spots. I don't care for house sparrows, but give them the right background and they look pretty good.
I've also found the favorite spot where a couple of blue herons hang out. I grabbed this photo on Friday and went back last night and he was in the exact same spot!
The river has been and continues to be cleaned up from the PCB pollution, the wildlife is returning and the fish is plentiful. Jumping out of the water. There were a couple of ospreys flying around too.
Meanwhile, back on the homefront, the female hummer got a chance to grab some dinner

Some people drink on Friday nights (dlq? ) others go for a walk looking for birds. The egrets are back in my 'hood. And a female red winged blackbird posed almost in front of me.
Had a great time tonight (Sat). Great bar, band, and lots of young people. They screamed and made noise while Univ of MI lost but every time there was a break during that stupid football game, the band played. OMG. You want to feel old; don't go there. There was some girls with some dance moves that I just had to appreciate; I had to!
Really there was two girls that were dancing that were light years better than the rest. Oh, too be young again. But we still are, if only in our minds. One of the girls was so good we really wondered if she was a professional singer/dancer that we have seen on stage before.
Anyways, it was a fun night with another young couple who does not sit around on Fri or Sat nights. In face, we are getting together Sun.... for another round.

Ha, ha, ha, last laugh is on us. The other couple just texted they are not stopping (they were at a family deal today and apparently can't keep up with us old dogs). So it's just Donna & I tonight. But its funny - the wife said I jinked it. I probably did. I had ton of energy today even if I didn't go to bed till 2:30am - don't ask me why - and spent the day cleaning the house, especially the kitchen for top to bottom, and mowing the yard; heck, I even showered. Oh well, if you are not doing anythng tonight, stop by.
I am going to start a wood fire and cook hot dogs after the sun goes down. Along with my bluetooth speaker, we will listen to oldies under the stars. And sip some adult beverages. I love holidays were I don't have to be on the road with crazy people who work for a living and then try to cram it all in and do crazy driving.
